If you have ever done any kind of shopping, you probably have seen a machine at the check-out counter where you can swipe your credit card to pay for your purchase – this is called a credit card terminal. So what’s a virtual terminal?

A virtual terminal (also known as a “payment gateway”) is a method of accepting and processing credit cards without the use of a credit card terminal.  More specifically, you can log into a secure payment processing portal online, enter in the cardholder information, and submit the payment. It’s really that easy!

Check out our GroupISO Gateway demo here:

Virtual terminals are a great payment processing solution for businesses that don’t see their customers or clients in-person. For example, a customer can call a business and give them their cardholder information over the phone whereby the business can input the details into the gateway.

With some payment gateways, such as Group ISO Gateway there are more advanced features such a reoccurring billing, integration with QuickBooks™ software, anti-fraud, secure electronic invoicing, Verified by Visa, and MasterCard Securecode Authentication.
